Ayrshire Golf Association - Handicap League 2023
Belleisle were drawn in Group B along with Troon St Meddans, Alton (Ardeer) and Prestwick St Cuthberts. Fixtures were to be completed by 16 July, with the 7 Group winners along with the best Runner Up, going forward to the Quarter Final knockout stage.
The final results are shown in the table below.
Big shout to our best performing players with Gordon McAndrew 4 wins out of 5, Alan Tierney 2.5 out of 4, Simon Comley and Tim Knight both 2.5 out of 5, and Steven McLeish 2 out of 4, Callum Byers 1.5 out of 2 and Tommy Gallacher 1 win out of 1.
All games were played in a competitive and friendly spirit, and all of our team enjoyed the matches, especially those players who were new to the League. There is a thought about playing home matches on a Sunday next season to allow better hospitality to be offered, and the opinions from the players who played this season will be sought.

In a match played in testing, windy conditions. there were wins for Tommy Gallacher (5&4) on his debut in the League, and Gordon McAndrew (2&1) making it 3 wins out of 3. On the flip side there were defeats for Chris Rimmer (3&2), Simon Comley (5&4), Stephen Lucas (6&5) and Tim Knight losing on the last 1 down. |

Revenge was gained over St Meddans where the first 2 matches were halved by Alan Tierney and Callum Byers, the next 2 matches produced wins for Gordon McAndrew (2&1) to make it 4 out of 4 and Simon Comley who sneaked in a 3 footer at the last to win 1 up. Steven McLeish played well but lost out 2&1, whilst Tim Knight got his revenge on his Sunday opponent Davy Hunter to win 2&1. |

Ayrshire Golf Association - Presidents Putter competition
In the AGA Presidents Putter which is a Handicap Team Knockout event comprising 2 singles matches and one foursomes match, Belleisle defeated Troon S Meddans by 2 matches to 1 over the Belleisle course in their first match.
Singles results were : Robert Cameron won 3 and 2 and T Gallagher won 2 and 1
Foursomes result : C Rimmer / G McAndrew lost 2 down
On Sunday 18th June the same team lost 2.5 - 0.5 over Seafield to the Chase GC.
SIngles results were : T Gallagher - all square and Bob Cameron - lost 1 down,
Foursomes result : Gordon McAndrew / Chris Rimmer - lost 1 down.
This was a really close match, with all games going down the last hole and the result couldhave gone either way. However the Chase emerged victorious, and we wish them well in the rest of the competition.
